4. Press and hold on the cover of the book or periodical you want to unarchive.

A pop-up menu appears.

5. Tap the Unarchive menu choice.

Your NOOK unarchives the item, restores its contents, and removes it from the Archived shelf.

Deleting Books or Periodicals

Archiving removes the local copy of a book or periodical from your NOOK, while preserving a copy in your B&N

Lifetime Library. Deleting permanently removes all copies of a book or periodical from your NOOK and from your

B&N Lifetime Library.

CAUTION: When you delete a book or periodical, you permanently remove it from your NOOK and from

your B&N account. If you want to read the book or periodical again later, you will need to repur-

chase it.

To delete a book or periodical, do this:

1. In the Library, press and hold on the cover of the book or periodical.

A pop-up menu appears.

2. In the menu, tap the Delete menu choice.

Your NOOK permanently deletes the book or periodical.

Opening Files on the SD Memory Card

To open a ﬁles stored on a microSD Memory Card, do this:

1. Make sure that the microSD Memory Card is installed in your NOOK. If the card is installed, you’ll see a large

button that says Memory Card at the top of the Library when you tap the My Files icon.

2. In the Library, tap the My Files icon in the Media Bar to displays a list of ﬁles.

Your NOOK displays a hierarchical list of the ﬁles and folders on your microSD Memory Card.

3. To open a ﬁle, press and hold on the name of the ﬁle.

A pop-up menu appears.

4. Tap Open.

NOTE: You can use the steps above to access any ﬁles on the microSD Memory Card. To transfer ﬁles from a

microSD Memory Card to internal memory of your NOOK, connect your NOOK to your personal

computer, following the directions below. Transfer the ﬁles from the microSD Memory Card to your

personal computer, and then from your personal computer to the My Files folder on your NOOK.

Transferring Files from Your Personal Computer to Your NOOK

You can transfer ﬁles, including EPUB ﬁles, Microsoft Oce ﬁles, photos, and music ﬁles, from your personal com-

puter to your NOOK. Transferring ﬁles this way is sometimes called “sideloading.”

To transfer ﬁles, do this:

1. Using the custom microUSB cable provided with your NOOK, connect your NOOK to your personal computer.

NOTE: Use only the microUSB cable provided with your NOOK. Using any other cable might damage your

NOOK.
